Braille Lite vs. Braille Note

So, wich notetaker do you like better, the Braille Lite or the Braille Note? As someone who has had both, I really like the Braille Note. The Braille Lite's good for word processing and caculating, but the Braille Note's much better at both of those things. Plus, it's a lot easier to read books and manage a planner on the Braille ANote. What do you think?

As much as I have enjoyed using verious models of the braille lite for the past 7 years, they r becoming obsolete I'm afraid. The biggest difference between the braille note and braille lite is that the bn runs on a windows based platform, while the blt (That's braille lite, not a bacon lettus and tomato sandwich,) runs of a system based on dos. I've never really had the oprotunity to run a bn, but I here they're much more practical. The only real good thing I can say for the BLT is that u can load programs written in basic and use them with an inturpretor, and I do not think there is such a thing for the bn. But I don't think u can really compare the 2. The BLT is based on old technology, and the bn is based on newer technology. It would be like trying to compare an apple 2e to a brand new del or compac. For those that r too young to remember the apple 2e, that was a computer that was popular back in the late 80's. Damn... I feel old now.

OK...here's the thing in my opinion. Both these models have their ups and downs. If you're a person who basically only wants to take notes, and have a few basic but useful featuers, then you want the braille lite. However, if you wana do some major word processing, then you may want to use the braille note. Anyways though, I think that freedomscientific has realized their mistake with the braille lite, and that's why they decided to come out with tha pacmate which can do all that the braille note can do, and even more. Especially with it's new gps unit which is gona start shipping in september.

Hi,
I haven't ever owned a Braille Lite, but I used one several times, and it was the first device I saw with speech and a braille display. Well, I heard it, didn't see it, hahaha just joking just joking. Anyway. I loved it from the start. But it turned out I wasn't destined to own one, because shortly after I had gone Braille lite crazy, the BrailleNotes came out, and a few years later, I got one. I love it to this day! But as far as I'm concerned, they're both great pieces of technology for their time. The BrailleLite had it's time, and now, it's just getting obsolete. They're both great, it's just the BrailleNote is a good deal newer, more advanced in the way of new technology and has more features.
That's just my opinion!

the only thing brl lites are good for is wordprocessing and calculating like someone said previously. i like brl notes cuz they dont dye all the time they have better wordprocessing they have internet media player etc. but i hate the calculator and the spell checker! and the pronunciation dictionary cant hold too many definitions or it resets itself! and every freaking time i charge that thing it like says "cannot run this version of keysoft." i know its a glitch cuz when i exit and go to main menu, and i do the info thingy, it says "keysoft ce version 5.1 build 19" so i reset it just in case and its fine. man it scares me every time. and the compactflash2 message is a glitch too.

HI!
I had a Braille Lite M20, and then, i really wanted the BrailleNote, I even had a person come out and give me a demonstration of one.
Then, Right after I got My Braille Lite M20, the Pac-mate came out.
I jumped on the pac-mate right away, and when the model with the braille display came out, I got one!
I have the pac-mate BX420, and I love it.
I like the fact that you can load off-the-shelf programs on to the Pac-mate.
I think that all notetakers out there are good for different things, it just depends on what your needs are at the time that you are thinking about purchasing a notetaker.
Look at all of the options that you can, and then decide which one fits your needs best!
Just my thoughts and oppinions!
